Karl Magnuson is a creative based in Washington DC.

In 2016 Karl embarked on a massive roadtrip across the United States, driving 13,505 miles through 26 states and visiting 22 National Parks in 8 weeks. This trip solidified a love of photography and videography (and reinforced a love of travel and the National Parks). Traveling alone (for the most part), photos are a way to share experiences, to communicate and tell stories.

Creative work is a natural outlet as it supports and enhances a love of travel, technology, art, storytelling, and of course, other people. He also tends to really like anything he likes. For example, after offering to help a friend with shooting photos for a theatre interview, he immediately was drawn to the passion and dedication of the artists and explored working with national theatre tours and Broadway actresses and actors. His love of live theatre coupled with the chance to meet new people led to working with all six companies of the musical Hamilton in less than a year (all over the country / world)!

Other areas of photography focus include live music and concerts (an excuse to see more shows!) and the alternating busyness and quiet everyday life in Washington DC.

Karl is an electrical engineer by education, a consultant and engineer by profession, and other interests include listening to and playing music, anticipating the next MCU or Star Wars series or movie, skiing whenever possible, foolishly hoping the Minnesota Twins will make it past the Yankees in the playoffs, keeping up with friends and family all over the world, reading at any opportunity, collecting Field Notes notebooks, and investing in his church and community in Washington DC.

Karl has experience with everything from photography to podcasting to videography and is always up for a challenge and chance to work on new skills! If you are interested in hiring or working with him, you can reach out with the contact form here, or directly via social media.
