SCENES | The Schuyler Sisters | Summer 2018

“Can I show you what I’m proudest of?” I have never had so much fun on a shoot. Sabrina Sloan, Julia Harriman, and Isa Briones play Angelica, Eliza, and Peggy Schuyler in the Angelica National Tour of Hamilton, which has been in town at the Kennedy Center this summer. And, again, like Austin and Dre, they. were. incredible. Have I told you how mindblowingly good Hamilton is yet? It is mindblowingly good. Here’s the thing - I’m sure that photoshoots with each of these ladies would have turned out amazing, but together, it was just magic. Their sisterhood in the show, and the sisterhood fostered by the show, shine through every photo. They are the definition of photogenic, and together, they are an extra measure of breathtaking. Don’t take me word for it, just scroll on.

I was so incredibly fortunate to have my friend Anna Meyer join me last minute - she is an incredible DC-based photographer, and in our impromptu social media introduction we both marveled at how naturally similar our eyes and editing styles are. She was so crucial in helping direct some of the smaller details of the shoot, allowing me to get some different angles, and, man, can she find light.

This was a photographer’s dream. It was so refreshing to just shoot and shoot and love every picture and every location, and to do it all with these incredible, talented, fun people. I have too many for just one post, so here are links to posts that focus on each of the girls: Angelica, Eliza, and Peggy. This is the kind of creative experience I normally only dream of, and of course a huge thanks is due to my friend Teale who made the initial connection and will be following up with interviews soon!
