FAMILY | The Leemans

I have had Gravelly Point on my bucket list of photoshoot locations since I moved to DC. I don't know what took me so long, but I was excited with Philip and Molly Leeman and their family agreed to meet me there for some family pictures! Gravelly Point is directly west of Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA), meaning you get very close up views of departing and arriving planes (it is a special treat if they are arriving when you are there - it is the closest I've been to big planes).

Advice for people on photoshoots - be chill, be flexible, and be willing to have fun. We had hoped for some nice evening light and golden hour sunset colors splashing on the fall leaves around the park, but we got grey skies and rain. Thankfully, the Leemans were chill, flexible, and had fun with it, and we had a great time taking pictures, being tourists in our own city, and, of course, watching airplanes.
