Why I Chose It: In 2015 my friend Wil introduced me to these prayer and devotion books, and this is my second round through them.
Quotes: (1) "May the Lord Almighty grant me and those I love a peaceful night and a perfect end. Amen." (2) "My help is in the Name of the Lord who made heaven and earth and all that is in them. Thanks be to God." (3) "Lord Jesus Christ, by your death you took away the sting of death: Grant me to so follow in faith where you have led the way, that I may at length fall asleep peacefully in you and wake in your likeness; for your tender mercies' sake. Amen."
Other Notes: Structure and form can be extremely useful focusing aids. I call this book "centering" because it helps me start, carry out, and end my day in calm prayer and meditation. The flow and structure guide and focus me on God, which often restructures my entire day. I am very grateful for the Divine Hours.
