Favorite Quote: “Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work, or watch, or weep this night, and give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend the sick, Lord Christ; give rest to the weary, bless the dying, soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, shield the joyous; and all for your love’s sake. Amen.”

Why I Chose It: Wil Sloan introduced me to this collection of prayers and devotions (in three volumes). I began last Fall with the second volume which covers fall and winter. This third volume has daily readings from March to May.

Other Notes: I love the structure and pattern of these readings. They pull mostly from Psalms and the Book of Common Prayer. Every day, you read one section in the morning, one around noon, one in the evening, and a final section right before you go to bed. My favorite part has been when I can alternate reading with friends and coworkers who have also obtained a copy.
