TRAVEL | Outer Banks | Fall 2018
After filming Trevor and Taylor’s wedding I decided to take the long way home to DC via the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I used to live in the Raleigh area, and made a couple trips to the Outer Banks as a kid, resulting in good memories of the ocean and famous lighthouses - when I stepped outside into 70 degrees and sunshine (in November!) I instantly decided to take the detour. It was a very good decision!
The route included two ferries and three lighthouses: Ocracoke (the oldest operating lighthouse in North Carolina, second oldest in the country), Cape Hatteras (which was *moved* to escape the encroaching ocean), and Bodie Island. Daylight Savings meant I missed Bodie Island in the day, but it provided me with an opportunity to get some dope long exposures!
