TRAVEL | La La Land | Summer 2017
I loved the movie La La Land. Of course, the Griffith Observatory is a lot more crowded than the movie implies, and I'm not so sure about the after hours access they have, but it is an incredible place nonetheless. It captures a sense of the magic I see in L.A. I'm grateful Titus let us brave the crowds to experience a sunset from the park, even if we had to book it back to the car before it was towed.
This trip to Los Angeles was inspired by three things: (1) wanting to experience this in person (man alive do I love those Apple TV screensavers!), (2) seeing my cousins and some friends who live in the area, and (3) the Minnesota Twins played a rare interleauge series agains the Los Angeles Dodgers, and I wanted to go to one of the games. Oh, and of course, (4) In-N-Out.
Bonus points: I had a lot of tacos, very tentatively attempted some beach volleyball (my leg is almost strong again!), camped out at a beach next to LAX to snap some pictures of some A380s, happened to connect with my friend Ken during his layover, and had the chance to go to church and lunch with some dear friends from my time in Cambridge. La La Land never disappoints.
Pictures from the first half of my trip can be found here.
