SCENES | Jon Foreman | Winter 2018

Back in November I had a really fun opportunity to shoot a Jon Foreman concert here in DC (thanks Union Stage and Miracle Theatre!) I'm only now getting around to posting them, even though I had made some edits right after the show (including one that Jon posted on his instagram!!)

A little background on Jon - he is one of my favorite musicians, philosophers, and people. He is probably better known for his leading role in the band Switchfoot, but it was his solo music that captured my attention. My friend and podcast co-host Andrew Collins and I both find ourselves referencing song lyrics and concepts from Jon regularly - he has an incredible way of humbly navigating through life's deepest questions, never without hope despite the ever presence of the temptation to despair. He's one of the most sincere people I've encountered, and he displays that in his music. I hope these images are able to convey some of that sincerity.

One cool thing he does during solo shows is choose songs to play based on suggestions written by the audience and placed on the stage before the show. I left a few pieces of paper myself (for Terminal, Equally Skilled, and Come Home).
