TRAVEL | Capri | Summer 2017
"CA-pri", not "ca-PRI" (like the pants or Colbie Callait song, though the vibes line up well). From Rome we raced off to Naples where we took a ferry to the incredible island of Capri, famous for rugged landscapes, countless white yachts dotting the sea, designer fashion and clientele to take advantage, limoncello, sunshine, brilliantly colorful gardens, and handmade leather sandals. And SO. MUCH. BLUE. The boat ride we took around the island was a heavenly color-study. I wouldn't turn down the chance to join one of the yachts for a day on the sea in the sun, marveling at the views. I might hitch a ride up the funicular to grab a white cotton shirt to fit in first.
We were told multiple times that Beyonce had stayed here. I was more impressed with the celebrity photo board I passed featuring Nicholas Cage dead center. GET IN THE CAGE! Man, what I wouldn't give to hang out on Capri with Nic Cage for a day. Talk about a dream. To continue the theme, we rushed all over the top of the island, trying to see two or three days worth of sights in forty five minutes or so. The gardens join the art in Rome on my running of list of things to come back to enjoy at a slower pace.
