SCENES | Baseball, Total Eclipse, 6D Mark II | Summer 2017

This post sums up some of my summer. I went to a lot of baseball games (I love baseball!) including knocking off two new Texas ballparks (homes of the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros - only nine left to visit out of the thirty!) and seeing the Nationals put on a home run clinic at our annual company outing to Nats Park. Speaking of checking things off of my list - I spotted two more Southwest Airlines planes with unique paint jobs (aka "liveries"), Nevada One and California One. And I got a new camera! I was waiting patiently for the Canon 6D Mark ii, and it finally came out in July. In fact, my buddy Larsen (first picture below) is the unaware model for the first picture I ever took on the new body. I love it so far (let me know if you want to hire me to take pictures though - it wasn't a cheap acquisition).

Also, a lot of time with family and friends near and far. I'm so grateful for the time, travel, and talks behind these shots. And the hospitality of so many of these people! More than I deserve. Wait, I left off a "t" word there - TACOS. TORCHY'S TACOS to be precise. My friend Wil and I had three In-N-Out visits and two Torchy's in the space of three days. Oops, I guess. Eating Torchy's at the Astros ballpark was very near a perfect experience. Watching the Total Solar Eclipse with my Dad and Broder fits that description pretty well too. I can't describe it. Read Annie Dillard's description - it is 100% accurate. Go see the next one if you have any possible chance. I'd pass on the Krispy Kreme donuts though, they were just alright. Oh, and one more thing - my family got a new Boston Terrier puppy and he is irresistible.
