SCENES | Alexander Hamilton | Summer 2018

As you can imagine, as a huge Hamilton fan, I’m pumped to share these pictures with you. Austin Scott portrays Alexander Hamilton in the Angelica National Tour of Hamilton, which has been in town at the Kennedy Center this summer. I met Austin at the US Capitol for some photos (even though he did previously “sell it down the river”). He is legit, and, just like Dre, was incredibly forbearing through all of my Hamilton references. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Even though Alexander Hamilton never served in Congress, there are historical markers of his role in our developing nation around the Capitol building. Obvious examples (and stops on our mini-tour of the Capitol) are the statue of him in the Rotunda, and the literal “Room Where It Happened” (at least, if by “it” you mean the decision in the Election of 1800, where Hamilton’s endorsement of Thomas Jefferson cost Aaron Burr the presidency). There are many reasons why I think Hamilton is incredible, but the history is a huge part, and it is so cool to connect some of these things together on a photoshoot!

It was an absolute pleasure to hang with Austin - don’t forget to follow my friend Teale who will be complementing these pictures with an interview with A.HAM in the near future!
